CHILDREN WILL LEARN FIRST AID FROM THIS BOOK

The Ministry of National Education started an important project in terms of making an investment to the future in order to give first aid training to children at an early age. The Directorate General for Special Education and Guidance Services prepared a book entitled, "The First Aid School; Heroes on Duty" for children between the ages of 6 to 9. Noting that the book includes first aid moves which can be applied by anyone from any age group, Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk said 'The First Aid School; Heroes on Duty' will be an important source for children, teachers and parents."

The Directorate General for Special Education and Guidance Services of the Ministry of National Education has published a book entitled, "The First Aid School; Heroes on Duty" in order to teach the importance of first aid and basic first aid procedures to children. The book is the product of joint effort by officials and experts from the Ministry, pediatric health experts, pediatric and adult emergency medicine experts, emergency medicine nurses, paramedics, first aid trainers, clinical psychologists and social service experts.
 
Addressing the launch of "The First Aid School; Heroes on Duty" book, Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk said the book is an important project in terms of making an investment to the future in order to give first aid training to children at an early age.
 
Selçuk said that the book includes first aid procedures that can be applied by anyone at any age adding that, "In some cases, it is also possible to save lives by only dialing 112 and giving right information to aid worker on the phone. In line with this approach, we have prepared this book for children between the ages of 6 to 9 by using stories and illustrations.
 
Selçuk stated that the book provides basic health information as well as explaining basic first aid procedures by using stories about pre-school and primary school students.
 
Noting that the book which is the first of its kind will be an important source for students, teachers and parents, Minister Selçuk thanked Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özeri Director General for Special Education and Guidance Services and experts and all doctors, nurses, paramedics, clinical psychologists and social service experts for their contribution to the book.
 
After his speech, Selçuk had a digital meeting with children from Karabük, Giresun, Iğdır and Osmaniye who received the book.
 
The book prepared with the financial support of UNICEF is sent to private and state kindergartens, preschools and primary schools for distribution.
