MINISTER SELÇUK CONGRATULATES MEBIM WHICH RANKED SECOND IN THE WORLD

Administrators of the Ministry of National Education Communication Center (MEBİM) that ranked second in the "Best Communication Center" category in the Contact Center World Awards organized by the Contact Center World had a video conference with the Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk.

Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk had an online meeting with the MEBİM administrators, team leaders and workers to congratulate them for the worldwide award. Reinforced with virtual assistants with artificial intelligence in line with the purpose of being a solution based communication center as a part of Ministry's 2023 Education Vision aiming at transforming "complaint line" perception, MEBİM offers psychosocial support during the pandemic and gives all kinds of support during the distance education period.
 
Sending his regards to the headquarters of the communication center located in Erçiş district of eastern province of Van, Minister Selçuk congratulated MEBİM for the second prize at the Contact Center World Awards 2020.
 
Minister Selçuk stated that the success of this great team was awarded this prize adding, "This award is not a coincidence. Your duty is not only technical; you are working with love and compassion and you display sensitivity to human emotions. You deserve a big applause. "
 
"You are working in the field. When people call this center, they establish a communication with the Ministry of National Education. You may not solve all the problems but people are happy to be heard. We will continue to work for the better. Your job is listening to people but today we want to hear from you."
 
Meanwhile, Department Manager Sevda Turan Şahin stated that MEBİM was perceived as a complaint line in the past but it managed to change its image to make an important change as they offer psychosocial support and all kinds of applicable suggestions. "Until now, we gave service to more than 3 million people and saw that MEBİM has become an important hotline for people."
 
About MEBİM
The Ministry of National Education Communication Center (MEBİM) was established in the Erçiş district of Van province in March 2012 in order to offer 7/24 aid to earthquake victims as a part of social responsibility project of the Ministry. 50 of the total of 180 staff working in the communications center is disabled, 48 percent of its employees are females and 34 percent of them are earthquake victims.
 
MEBİM is currently providing a variety of services to students, young people and parents in order to reduce the anxiety and traumatic impact of new type of corona virus pandemic with the support of guidance counselors and teachers working at the research centers.
 
In September 2019, a social media team was founded in order to respond comments on social media about the actions of the Ministry and more than 148 thousand messages were responded within this content since now.
 
Artificial intelligence and machine learning based MebAssistant gives instant answers to the questions of people and directs those who need more detailed information from the communications center. 
 
MEBİM "444 0 632" hotline was awarded with a silver medal in the "Best Communication Center" category at the contest organized by the Contact Center World.
 
In line with the equal opportunity right in education, MEBİM gives effective and prompt service upon requests of teachers, parents and people and it was also awarded with second prize in a world competition participated by many countries from America, Europe, Middle East and Africa.
 
Finally, MEBİM was awarded with the second prize in the "Best Communication Center" category by leaving behind many contact centers from more than 50 countries in the Contact Center World Awards EMEA 2020.
 
The Contact Center World organizes contests in various different categories in world contact center sector every year and first stage of two stage award is organized in America, Asia, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).  
 
Jurists made up of sector professionals from all over the world elect finalists. Detailed question and answer forms, Operational IKPIs and details special to the communication centers are assessed carefully by the jury. Contest which was postponed three times this year due to Covid-19 pandemic was organized online on October 29, 2020 with the participation of more than 50 countries.  
 
Projects which won first and second awards in the regional contest organized by the Contact Center World have a right to directly attend the World finals.
 
MEBİM will represent our country and the Ministry in the World finals that will be organized online between February 9 to 11.
