NEW RECORD IN TRAINING PROGRAMS FOR TEACHERS

The Ministry of National Education supports professional improvement of teachers as a part of its goal to increase the quality of education. Digital Teacher Education Network (ÖBA) has been providing training program services for teachers since the beginning of 2022.

The Ministry of National Education gave a total of 3 million 203 thousand and 44 training program certificates, 2 million 760 thousand and 36 of them for teachers in the first five months of 2022. The Ministry gave certificates to 146,848 school administrators and 854,044 teachers during the same period of last year. There has been a 220% increase in the number of teachers and administrators who completed training programs when compared to the figures of 2021.
 
Number of school administrators who completed training programs in the first 5 months of 2022 increased by 202% when compared to the same period of last year and reached from 146 thousand 848 to 443 thousand 467.
 
Training program hours per teacher and administrator in the first five months of 2021 was 27,79 and this figure increased by 72% and reached  47,90 hours.
 
53% of teachers attended teaching general field information, 22% of them attended personal improvement training courses, 12% attended teaching special field information and 10,8% participated in the management and corporate training programs.
 
Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that supporting professional improvement training programs of teachers is among the prior matters of his Ministry adding that, "We offer training programs in different subjects for teachers varying from personal development to professional improvement. We have founded a Teacher Information Network at the beginning of 2022 in an effort to enrich distance training options of teachers."
 
He noted that the Ministry of National Education also offers school based professional improvement training programs that allow school administration to select a training program according to the needs of the school.
