SCHOLARSHIP AND EMPLOYMENT PLEDGE TO STUDENTS WHO ENROLLED IN SOFTWARE AND WELDING DEPARTMENTS

As a part of the project initiated by the Ministry of National Education and the İstanbul Chamber of Industry  (ISO) for the reinforcement of vocational education, the students who enrolled in the software and the welding departments of six different vocational high schools will receive scholarships and they will have priority for getting jobs.. Deputy Minister of National Education Özer said, "Perfection centers established in the selected 6 vocational and technical high schools are decorated with high tech welding and software equipment and devices."

A project initiated by the Ministry of National Education and the İstanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO) for the reinforcement of vocational education is yielding results.
 
Perfection centers established in the selected 6 vocational and technical high schools are decorated with high tech welding and software equipment and devices and students who opted to enroll in the welding and software departments of these schools will receive scholarships and they will have priority in getting jobs.
 
Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer and ISO Chairman Erdal Bahçıvan commented about the project during a meeting.
 
Deputy Minister Özer stressed that reinforcement of vocational education is among the priorities of the Ministry of National Education.
 
Noting that the Ministry has taken important steps in this regard for the last three years, Özer went on to say that: "Our cooperation with ISO for the reinforcement of vocational education in İstanbul is gradually expanding.  At this point, we have decided to take steps for thematic projects. Perfection centers established in the selected 6 vocational and technical high schools are decorated with high tech welding and software equipment and devices. Professional improvement programs for teachers working in these schools will become permanent with the support of ISO. Moreover, we are planning to update the curriculum."
 
Özer said, "I would like to express my gratitude to ISO Chairman Bahçıvan, ISO officials and sector representatives for their support to bolster vocational education in İstanbul since 2019 and I also would like to thank Director of İstanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education Levent Yazıcı and his colleagues for their contribution to the project."
 
Meanwhile, ISO Chairman Erdal Bahçıvan also expressed satisfaction and happiness for cooperating with the Ministry of National Education in an effort to reinforce vocational education in İstanbul and raise quality of human resources needed in the sector.
 
"Our three year old cooperation gradually was boosted and we always take new steps such as the project for welding and software departments in the selected vocational schools. I would like to thank Deputy Minister Özer and ministry officials," said Bahçıvan.
 
Important Projects Initiated in Vocational Education
Important projects were completed as a result of cooperation between the Ministry and ISO.
 
The number of vocational and technical high schools which was 35 increased to 46 as a result of this cooperation. Moreover, 5 fine arts high schools were established. 378 meetings were held concerning the projects.  
 
Other gains obtained from this cooperation were the professional improvement programs for principals and vice principals of selected schools, training programs consisting of 16 modules for teachers.
 
Perfection centers of welding and software departments
Based on the decision taken during the assessment meeting held in November 2020 between the Ministry of National Education and ISO, 5 perfection centers were founded in selected schools. 10 million liras were allocated within this framework.
 
Within this framework, following the steps taken in the field of welding, projects focused on software departments.  In addition to scholarship opportunities, students who prefer to enroll in welding and software departments will be given priority in obtaining jobs.
