BİLSEMs WON FIRST PRIZE IN THE EU CONTEST FOR YOUNG SCIENTISTS

Malatya BİLSEM student Feridun Balaban won first prize in the European Union Contest for Young Scientists where students from BİLSEMs, Anatolia High Schools and Anatolia Imam Hatip Schools competed. Kartal Anadolu İmam Hatip High School and Fuat Sezgin BİLSEM student Sertaç Çeküç came second and Cağaloğlu Anadolu High School Student Emirhan Kurtuluş placed third.

Turkish Scientific and Scientific Research Council (TÜBİTAK) is the national coordinator of the EU Contest for Young Scientists in which 114 projects from 34 different countries competed.
 
Malatya BİLSEM student Feridun Balan won both first and special Wolfram award in the field of physics with his "Investigation of spectral response and efficiency of boron and nitrogen doped diamond like carbon as a top junction on multi-junction solar cells" project.
 
The İstanbul Kartal Anatolia İmam Hatip High School and Fuat Sezgin BİLSEM student Mehmet Sertaç Çeküç won second prize in the field of chemistry with his "microfluidic sensor development" project. Meanwhile, İstanbul Cağaloğlu Anatolia High School student Emirhan Kurtuluş won third award and Wolfram special award in the field of software with his "Surgical Planning Through Deep Learning".
 
İstanbul Sakıp Sabancı Anatolian High School and Beşiktaş BİLSEM Zeynep Parla Parmaksız received the Wolfram special award in the field of Mathematics with her Mathematical Decision Algorithms for Covid-19 project.
 
İzmir Bahçeşehir College student, Olcay Oransoy, received the Wolfram special award for his Graph-Oriented Algorithm Proposal, also in the field of software.
