"CHOICE COUNSELING" FOR CANDIDATES WHO WILL ENROLL IN UNIVERSITY PROGRAMS

"As of today, the Ministry of National Education started online choice counseling service on Education Information Network (EBA) for students who will enroll in university programs according to their grades they received as a result of the Higher Education Institutions Exams (YKS)."

Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk announced in his speech about the issue said the Ministry will start choice counseling service for students who will enroll in university programs and their parents.

Noting that they have founded "choice counseling units" in counseling and research centers affiliated to the Ministry, Selçuk went on to say that, "within this context, these units will give counseling services to students during their enrollment process according to their interests, values and skills. Choice counseling units will provide services at schools and counseling and research centers while counselors will give same service on EBA. Candidates who are graduates or who have no internet access will receive this service from counseling and research centers or nearest choice counseling unit upon their wish.

Minister Selçuk underlined that the Ministry also considered the needs of seasonal agricultural workers and took all kinds of measures in order to make them benefit from YKS choice counseling adding that, "Our goal is to reach every student and parent who need guidance and allow them to make right choices about their futures. Our students can easily apply for choice counseling."

University rectors will meet candidates in live broadcast
Minister Selçuk reminded that the Ministry also prepared online university promotion days for students who entered the YKS and stated, "Rectors and academicians will attend live university and department promotion programs that can be viewed at YouTube and Instagram. University rectors will give information about their universities while academicians will introduce their departments."
