MINISTER ÖZER VISITS QATAR

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer and an accompanying delegation visited the Turkish Embassy in Doha as a part of his official visit to Qatar.

Minister Özer signed the Honorary Book and received information from Ambassador M. Mustafa Göksu about Türkiye's activities in Qatar during his visit.
 
Minister Özer thanked the Turkish Embassy for their efforts in boosting relations between the two countries. Later, he visited the Education Consulate in the Embassy building.
 
Minister Özer visited Qatar University
Minister Özer and the accompanying delegation visited Qatar University and met with University Rector Dr. Hassan Al-Derham.
 
Özer expressed his happiness to visit ally and brother country Qatar and said recent high level official visits between two countries have boosted education relations.
 
Noting that cooperation between Türkiye and Qatar in all levels of education continued with determination, Özer said, "University student exchange between two countries and mutual scholarship programs continue. Since 1929, both countries have been exchanging students. We are sending students to Qatar as a part of Law No. 1414 concerning abroad scholarship programs for civil servants. Our intention is to increase existing cooperation capacity to a higher level."
 
Minister Özer mentioned the importance of education cooperation agreements between the two countries in the reinforcement of long term relations.
 
"Students will play the role of cultural ambassadors and build a bridge between the two countries. They have an important role in the reinforcement of relations and transfer this friendship to the next generations," Özer stated.
 
Meanwhile, Rector Al-Derham thanked Özer for his visit to his country and the Qatar University.
 
"Strong Türkiye has become the center of attraction in education due to its large number of students, education capacity, efficiency and geographic location," said Al-Derham.
