MINISTER TEKİN ATTENDS THE MASS OPENING CEREMONY OF THE EDUCATION FACILITIES IN ESENLER

Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin attended the opening ceremony of Erhan Boysan Primary School, Süleyman Çetinsaya Secondary School and Esenler Kantur Sports Hall in Esenler.

Speaking at the ceremony held in the garden of Erhan Boysan Primary School in Esenler, Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin said that since he started his ministerial duty, he has only attended the openings of schools organized by philanthropists.

Explaining that he did not attend the opening ceremony of the schools they organized from the general budget, Tekin noted that the Ministry of National Education has 56 thousand public schools. Stressing that they constantly invest to improve the education and training environment, the Minister said they strive to build approximately four to five thousand classrooms on average every year. Expressing that they sometimes encounter problems regarding the allocation of resources during the building process, Minister Tekin stated that they recently held 2024 budget negotiations. Underlining that as in every budget period under the AK Party governments, the largest share of the general budget this year is allocated to the Ministry of National Education, Minister noted that sometimes the allocated resources were not enough to meet the needs or demands. Stressing that the philanthropists help them to solve this problem, the Minister thanked Süleyman Çetinsaya, Erhan Boysan and Ali Kantur, who take responsibility to take the burden of education and training from the state in 81 provinces all over Türkiye.

"Investments were also reflected in the PISA report"
Tekin pointed out that these investments were also reflected in the OECD Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) report stating Türkiye is above the OECD averages in terms of the physical conditions of education and training environments.

Thanking the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for his support on this issue Minister Tekin noted that apart from the municipalities that support them, there are also municipalities impeding them in terms of finding a budget and generating resources.

Minister Tekin thanked the municipalities, especially the Mayor of Esenler, Tevfik Göksu for working diligently in order to contribute to the education and training process.

Tekin stated that they expect continued support from philanthropic business people in building schools.

After the speeches, Minister Tekin and the accompanying delegation planted saplings in the school garden in memory of the 100th anniversary of the Republic.
