THE MINISTRY HAS SIGNED A COOPERATION PROTOCOL CONCERNING SAFETY OF CHILDREN'S EDUCATION PROCESS

The Ministry of National Education, Ministry of Family and Social Services and Ministry of Interior Affairs signed a Cooperation Protocol Concerning Increasing Protective and Preventive Services and Measures about Children's Education Process.

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer, Minister of Family and Social Services Derya Yanık, Minister of Interior Affairs Süleyman Soylu and President of Union of Municipalities of Türkiye Fatma Şahin were present at the ceremony organized in Ankara Police Museum on the occasion of the protocol.

Making a speech at the ceremony, Minister of National Education Özer expressed his happiness to complete face-to-face education without any interruption and thanked the Ministry of Interior Affairs for their contribution.

Minister Özer stated that the most permanent and sustainable capital of any country is its human resources, adding that education is the most important instrument in increasing the quality of these resources.

"Education is a matter of national security. Under the leadership of the esteemed President, we have carried out an important campaign in an effort to maximize the benefit of education. We have witnessed the biggest investment in education in all levels of education and in parts of the country. We all witnessed the results of this investment. Schooling rate in preschool education among 5 year old children was 11 percent in the 2000s. Today, it is 92 percent. Today, the children of this country have all the opportunities to have access to the quality of education."

Özer noted that policies implemented by the Ministry of Family and Social Services assisted his Ministry to implement campaigns and added that socioeconomically disadvantaged and female students benefited most.

Reminding that problems concerning the accession of female students to education were solved in the last 20 years and current schooling rate of female students is higher than male students, Özer stressed that Türkiye also offered quality of education to the children of refugee families.

"The Ministry of National Education is working in an effort to raise children who are at peace with their own country and nation, who internalized the values of their soil, who are happy to serve others and who have a potential to have something to say different in the world. This cooperation protocol is a milestone of this aim. We will not sacrifice any of our children to any kind of addiction including internet addiction. We will not lose any of our children to terror organizations. We will cooperate, we will value our youth, we will be their confidence and fulfill our duties for the future of our country," said Özer.

Yanık: Mobile teams will be twinned with schools
Minister of Family and Social Services Derya Yanık noted that mobile teams formed by the provincial directorates will be twinned with schools as a part of the Protocol.

"Mobile teams will carry out special activities for children who need guidance. We will provide rapid services to all children in all parts of the country. We will work on a project to support disadvantaged children to continue their education," said Yanık.

Soylu: Teachers are guarantors of codes of our civilization
Minister of Interior Affairs Süleyman Soylu named the four main topics of the protocol as crime, violence and abuse, prevention of addiction and safe education including the education and security issues of foreign origin students.

Noting that crime, violence and abuse are the basic security matters of the 21st century, Soylu said, "Our priority is to prevent crime, violence and abuse.  Teachers and school counselors are guarantors of the codes of our civilization. Their attention prevents these problems or detects them immediately. Then, related departments of our Ministry will take required steps for the rehabilitation or prevention."

Şahin: We had meetings with parents and children and discuss safety measures at schools
Meanwhile, President of Union of Municipalities of Türkiye and Gaziantep Mayor Fatma Şahin stated that they had series of meeting with parents and children to discuss safety measures at schools adding that first of all borders of the country must be secured to maintain security in the country and our state has maintained this security.
