THE RIGHT TO CHANGE OF LOCATION FOR TEACHERS AND MEB PERSONNEL IN THE OHAL (STATE OF EMERGENCY) ZONE

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer met with representatives of 4 education unions. The Ministry decided to increase the number of compassionate appointments from 2 to 3 in a year due to the earthquake.

Minister Özer met with Secretary General of Eğitim Bir Sen Latif Selvi, President of Türk Eğitim Sen Talip Geylan, President of Eğitim Sen Nejla Kurul, President of Eğitim İş Kadem Özbay and Secretary General of Eğitim İş Cengiz Sarıyer at the corporate office of the Ministry of National Education. In addition to general managers, Deputy Ministers Petek Aşkar and Sadri Şensoy were also attended the meeting.
 
At the meeting, the relocation of teachers and MEB personnel working Adana, Adıyaman, Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, Malatya, Osmaniye and Şanlıurfa provinces determined as earthquake-hit areas and where a state of emergency has been declared, was discussed in the light of the relevant legal provisions.
 
The Ministry has increased the number of the right for compassionate appointment from two to three in a year due to the earthquake.
 
The right for compassionate appointment is for the contract and permanent teachers and other personnel working under the Ministry of National Education in the provinces where the state of emergency has been declared.
 
People who have lost their spouse or child due to the earthquake in the provinces where the state of emergency has been declared, and those who document that the treatment of themselves and their dependents (spouse, child, mother, and father) is impossible in the province they currently stay in, can apply for reassignment.
 
The personnel whose applications are approved will be appointed, regardless of the norm staffing and the position in the province they prefer.
 
Applications will start on February 24 and end on March 10, 2023 at 16:00. Appointments will be made on March 15.
