VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL WORKSHOPS WILL BE EQUIPPED WITH MOST UP TO DATE TECHNOLOGY

"1,150 workshops in 55 vocational and technical high schools will be renewed with most up to date technology within the framework of a project carried out by the Directorate General of Vocational and Technical Education affiliated to the Ministry of National Education and funded by the EU."

Social and Economic Cohesion through Vocational and Technical Education Project financed by the German Development Bank (KfW) within the framework of the Facility for Refugees in Turkey (FRIT) continues. Within the context of the project, a total of 1,150 workshops in 55 vocational and technical high schools will be renewed and equipped with most up to date technological machines, equipment and training kits. In addition to renewals, the project having 50 million euro budget will also meet the transportation, lunch, clothing and stationary needs of Turkish students who are in need and Syrians who are under temporary protection. Within this framework, the project will provide support for 10 thousand students throughout its duration.

Renewal of 444 workshops are completed
Renewal and modifications of 444 workshops have been completed within the framework of the project. A total of approximately 138 million TL corresponding to 17 million Euros are spent for the renewal and modifications of workshops, student support modules and visibility activities. 132 informatics workshops in 28 schools have been completely renewed and equipped. Moreover, 248 electric and electronic workshops in 30 schools and 64 child development workshops in 17 schools have been renewed and equipped. Renewal and modification tender for the 35 workshops in 12 schools have been finalized. Meanwhile, modification and renewal tenders for the  are underway.

At least 1 million and 100 thousand students are expected to benefit from the revamped workshops in the next decade
It is planned to complete the renewal and update of all workshops until the end of next year. When we assume that there are approximately 2 thousand students per school, the project will allow 110 thousand students to benefit from modern education and training opportunities in the first stage. When it is calculated that renewed and modified devices and workshops will be used for a decade, it can be seen that at least 1 million and 100 thousand students will benefit from the renewed workshops during this period.

Moreover, social cohesion activities where students will develop their working together skills in cooperation are planned as a part of this project.
